Just finish watching Piranha and find it indeed entertaining and disgusted. If you like to watch SAW, you will definitely like Piranha. It is about human behaviour that leads to death. It is also about these monster fish that eats human meat. The person that introduces me this movie told me to look out for the blood, and I am really have to say I am impress with the way they made the blood to be so realistic. The shocking moment I guess is at the last part where I see Piranha mother.

Just watch this movie Toy Story 3 and it was very funny. Can't stop laughing when they meet difficulties. Especially the monkey security guard and the baby was scary. Nevertheless the school children's playing the toy, really reflect on how human treat them. Last but not least the animation and models were wonderful made.

Watch the movie 'Love In Disguise', and found it really not bad. There are sense of humour with the enhance of music. It was indeed about retaining traditional Chinese instrument and in fact, these instrumental music has been forgetting by generation. It is true that nowadays, youngster find it boring and so the possible solution to resolve this problem is to combine the current and tradition music as a product that do appeal to youngster. Nevertheless I find the motion graphics is a well done job. Amazing 2D effects that looks artistic enough to enhance and blend in with the storyline of the movie.

The latest news is that, Se7en will be competing with BoA on the coming countdown MNet show. It seen to be a YG entertainment vs the SM entertainment. Se7en new song is collaborating with Big Bang T.O.P and BoA till now is still solo, but ramous said will be collaborating with f(x) rapper.

Today, went to Orchard with my brother and got this bag that is huge for my busy day ready to come. However the trip is basically buying a good sound system for the new Samsung LCD in my room, so we can watch movie at home with a small entertainment corner. The LCD TV came free of charge, thanks to my mother that replaced the old fridge to a twin door fridge.

Upgraded my iPhone with the new iOS4. It was helpful for my everyday life as it allows me to organize my apps to a much more convenient order and able to let me multi-task several apps at one time. Moreover, the improvement let user customize their wallpaper to their desire theme. I personally find the text message with spell correct helps a lot and the camera now enable with 4x zoom without the help of third party apps. Nevertheless the smart photo album have developed to label the destination of where each photo is capture in the world map.

Finally I get to watch the movie The Leap Years as I think is time to understand what Ochre Pictures produced. After watching, I really feel that Singapore can make it in the movie industry. I am very surprise to see the beautiful side of Singapore and the challenge I guess is to film Singapore to look not like Singapore. The story is touching and the cinematography was well done. It inspire me to say Singapore make great films.

Thailand Trip (8-11)

Thailand wasn't that terrible reported on the news. In fact it is common to see such situation happening around Thailand. Although peaceful is what we are hoping for, but at least these people stand up for their rights.

Book into Somerset Lake Point, a service apartment open by Singaporean. It was a wonderful stay and facility are in good condition. Good service as well, providing transport to nearest train station and shopping mall.

Travelling there for 4 days 3 nights. Although due to the protesting activity happening around Bangkok, most of the big shopping mall were closed. However we still manage to shop around Bangkok because it is so big, bigger than Singapore. Just a 4 days trip won't be enough. Nevertheless I have to thank my sister-in-law to bring us along, without a Thai citizen that speak Thai language and know the place, it would be hard for us.

We ate our first lunch went we reach there. It was delicious and due to the hot temperature, it was relaxing to stay inside the restaurant.

Walking the underpass is also a good solution to prevent the sun. Took some photo as we walk around, and most store was closed, only open on the weekend.

Visited the wet market and get some food for relatives as well as my sister-in-law mother. Because the main purpose of this trip is like parents meeting section. At night we have the meet up section at a Japanese buffet restaurant. Also it is my brother, Romeo birthday. Heard it is last minute call, so the cake only left with fruit cake. (Romeo scare fruits)

During the last second day, we went to the temple. It was pack with people because it was their New Year. There are cultural dances from different part of Thailand. We also went to the palace but due to limited time and the costly entrance fee, we went back to temple to meet parents and went to other places.

It was so shocking to heard that the place was having a fight after we went off. We were so lucky, we almost trap at that location because no Taxi wanted to bring us out as the traffic was jam. Thanks to my sister-in-law again, she came out with a solution which is to take boat transport. It was a mess in Thailand, the train was closed by the government as well. My sister-in-law said it is still okay, we can shop around at Chatuchak market and take taxi back to Service Apartment.

Upgraded my Windows XP and Vista to 7. Wow, it is a great combination and less lagging. However it is too early to judge the performance at this point of time, but I like the overall graphic user interface.

In the evening, went to Orchard shop for bags. Already have in mind what is possible to purchase. It is this brand available at DCP shop. However feedback is the cost doesn't seen to be worth buying than other highly recognise brands like Crumpler, or my favorite Fred Perry. Well still pending which to go for.

Traveling

Early in the morning, return home from class chalet. Immediately refresh myself for one-day Malaysia trip with my friend. It was indeed a tiring experience but bring back lot of goodies and have a dinner with stone grill.

Reaching back to Singapore at night and stop at Bugis Junction for few more step of walk. Finally made the challenge of watching movie, How To Train Your Dragon. Well it was a great movie that catch my attention without letting my fall asleep. It is in 3D glass and 3D animation. I can say DreamWork made a new breakthrough. The colour and lighting are so appealing which work hand in hand with the visual.

Nevertheless the story-line was well planned and gives a nice flow. Although the story-line seen to be much more like Avatar, which deal with human and creature. But this is made in a fun way in translating the message, it should be well target for the children. Overall Avatar and this movie are both good film and good example of media used.

Paranormal Activity

Just finish watching Paranormal Activity at home after so long. Well it was indeed draggy finish the entire movie. However I found it quite fake for certain part. It was so well planned and one thing I found it funny was the last time they invite the doctor to their house, the doctor felt not right and decided to leave. Instead of closing the door and say no please stay, why the protagonist open the door and say please stay. It is not in sync. Nevertheless I think it is impressive that the girl can stay still for hours during one of the night.

MOI P2 Screening

Finally the two block of hard-work coming to the end after the screening. However there are still more to work on it after this but different objective. Well MOI P2 (Moving Images Project 2) module is like the major module that consist of two times credit than typical module block after block. It was happen every end of the year and I associate as a grand finale. It conclude what we have learnt so far and it is very stressful along the way.

World star BoA has started working on her comeback to the Korean music scene after five years. She plans to release a new album in Korea on August 25 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her debut and resume her career in Korea. She has been focusing on expanding her career in Japan and America since her firth album, “Girls on Top,” in 2005. BoA is currently touring Japan to promote her seventh album in Japan, “Identity,” released just last February. She will return to Korea right after the concerts and start getting ready for her musical activities here.

BoA’s agency, SM Entertainment, says that the singer may take part as producer in her August domestic album. She’s been known to be really fired up about her new album. The agency also said that in 2010 she will focus more on her musical careers in Japan and Korea, which is likely to leave a big vacuum in the U.S., However, SM Entertainment said that the agency’s president Lee Su-man himself is staying in the U.S. to oversee BoA’s career there.

Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief

Watched the Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief, it was indeed nice to see those special effects interacting with real people. However I think the story flow was a bit too fast which cause the feeling of fake. Although it is a fantasy but there should be some sense of humor.

On the other hand, I also visited two shop at Adidas and found these shoes attractive, thinking of purchasing.

Journey to Philippines

It was a great experience going to Philippines and oversee the affected area by natural disaster and manmade disaster. It teaches me to more thankful and trained me on my observation skill such as not to judge book by its cover. Many thing isn't show by one look but in detail investigation like interview. They are actually much stronger to carry out their daily life. There are so much to talk about and right now I will stop here till I receive the photo for publishing.

Had the last new year item with my family before leaving Singapore to Philippines. Gone through fun of the year 2010 at the 7th day of CNY. However suppose to be excited going overseas, but my current state is opposite from the imagination and that is why my bag still haven't pack. This time round really have no motivation to move forward. Challenges face could maybe due to the unprepared condition and afraid I might regret. On the other hand, I have a bad feeling about this trip. Hopefully the blessing and wishes from this new year dish bring me happiness and comfort.

Another documentary from National Geographic. It is indeed interesting to see the developing side of India. Heard that they build many many high buildings and wanted to be the highest. However the negative side of it is no one would want to start a long term business there due to environment and society.

One thing I strongly disagree would be the manmade land. I personally thing converting sea or changing mother nature would lead to more disaster as the wave or sea level will go higher.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

This is an amazing movie that consist of good sound design and cinematography. The composition was well planned and the colour set make the audience understand the situation, in this movie the timeline. You can easily understand the moment in time just by the look of its colour.

In addition to the storyline, I really feel it is creative to make a baby look old and at the same time becoming younger as the age increase. The acting of the protagonist also bring up the process like how childish a kid present. Moreover the incredible make-up make it look so real that you can't tell is it shooting backward by adding on the aging lines on the face.

Just got my new shoes for the Lunar New Year! There were so many people out there at town, Orchard. So hard to walk and communicate. Walking around, shop after shop and I realise that the products selling at Top-man and other retailer are expensive. I felt not that worth to purchase such item as there isn't any iconic brand logo on it, it is only the colour that attract most of the youth.

Therefore a shoes without logo cause $89, I rather invest $50 more for a shoes that is much more trustworthy. Fred Perry long history, up to 100 years. There must be a reason why such brand can last so long, in this brand I see the unique part of their style, I willing to purchase. Have you?

Philippine Community Service Trip

Few weeks ago, got into the oversea volunteer project held in Philippine by Mercy Relief. It was indeed a rewarding opportunity as I am able to complete my Moving Images Project 2 there as well as contributing some help to the people there and earth. Earth as the activities is more toward Going Green, planting Mangrove, reducing pollution, develop the awareness of environment friendly and changing/understanding people through media.

Currently on pre-production producing proposal, treatment, script, analyzing research and mood board. Nevertheless all task are heavy on writing which include words, therefore the only visual thing I can share is the mood board.

Born into Brothels

Today is the first day of lesson for MOI Project 2 and Communication Design Argument. Feel really excited about it as for the Project 2 will be traveling to Philippines for a community service and we are suppose to shoot a documentary out of it, but it is sad to see and being affected by school conflicts. Somehow is misunderstanding within lecturers.

Nevertheless I got to watch this documentary about life in India, Born into Brothels. It was indeed touching to see these little kids grow up to be able to study and show their talent in photography. There was a dynamic flow within the story-line, and create a power to watch more. Editing style or camera work isn't outstanding but somehow it is reasonable to have that to show the messiness of the country/street. Overall I think documentary isn't that boring than I use to think of it.

Night went to watch the movie Tooth Fairy with my old friends. At first decided to change the movie to shop for cloth as the Chinese New Year is coming soon, but I notice Bugis cloth were typical like 365 design and Orchard still at their winter season. Therefore I changed my mind again to watch the movie.

It is funny and enjoyable watching it. Although there wasn't any epic special effect going on, however it would win at the screenplay part which is able to boost your moody mood up.

After three days of choosing which to purchase, I finally made my choice to go for the slimmest one. Looking at my current wallet really troubled me a lot and people advice me to buy things that you need than you already have. Therefore as my wallet is thick and spoilt, I shall make a new investment. This wallet has no coin holder and note holder, what it has is only card holder and clipper to clip the note. I don't know how much trouble would I encounter but I just like the slim fit design, moreover as my brother theory 'guys should have more than one wallet for different occasion'.

Few more hours to year 2010, hoping the coming year will be better.

As usual kill time solution shall be watching a movie. Catch the movie Sherlock Holmes at 2130. The movie has a very attractive set design as well as the actor/actress costume design. The overall look of the scene were well taken care of to suit the history of Sherlock Holmes. Moreover I think the set itself were really costly and epic. How I wonder Singapore can ever get that kind of funding?

Finish the movie at around 2330 and quickly rush to the city hall area to see the fireworks being put up. Unfortunately my iPhone hang and unable to capture the scene. At first I thought my iPhone went out of battery therefore I cannot contact anyone except staying with my friend. Then while walking around to search for possible transport to go home, I decided to press restart button and it work, my iPhone hang for hours. Good experience, phone not working and hard to go home. However I still reach home at 4am by night bus 3N but duration 2 hours in the freezing bus.

Christmas Eve

It's the Christmas eve at Orchard, there were many people walking around and offer everywhere. However this year Christmas was rather boring even my house stop decorating the Christmas tree. It is getting not as meaningful as before. Partly because I am busy with school work and part-time job. Kind of feel my parents were left out behind. Therefore I am not working this weekend even if there are 1.5 rate. Money is important but you can earn it any time, as for your loves one, they will never be with you forever.

As per normal I guess this year I still exchange Christmas gift with my friends. Really, going out means money fly away. At night watch Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. What I can say is they are cute/funny, other than that I have no comment. But one thing I am impress with is their interaction with animation, look so realistic.

In BoA’s upcoming Japanese album, she will include a number of self-composed songs, her current Japanese single, “Bump Bump!”, soon to be released single, “White Wishes” as well as collaborations with various other artists.

Although plans for BoA’s future in Japan looks well though out, unfortunately fans in Korea will have to wait to see if BoA will be returning to the motherland for a comeback in 2010.

Happy Birthday Desmond! Tonight celebrating my friend 21st birthday at Pasir Ris chalet, it was indeed messy as there are so many random people but not so bad after all as I met people during ITE. The feeling was cold as there isn't any topic to start with. Therefore my friend and I get away for a show at E-hub, Twilight Saga New Moon.

The movie effect was amazing as per normal, the beauty of speed effects and green/blue screen. Nevertheless I finally get to look out of the dialog which remind me on what currently I am studying, Screenwriting. Every speech has it purpose and generate tension.

Currently I am also taking the module called Multimedia Fundamentals and it is my final elective, therefore I choose this familiar module, moreover it is creating a online portfolio, why not?

It is a good experience working with multiple psd file and images as it create confusion during combining it. Html is not that easy with huge content after all. Moreover I finally get to experience how impressive website work using flash. It is through frame command by action-script.

Remember Video Production 1 that I am having this block? Here are the video end product, well I personally feel it is way to improve because for all video that we produce there are always room for improvement. Seriously I think to produce a video in less than two week is impossible and hard, from pre-production to post-production, there are so many thing to do, I finally know the important of storyboarding and I guess I will never make the same mistake again. Camera shot no play play, spontaneous never help in production.

Previously watching the movie Orphan introduced by my brother. It is so nice that my brother even watch with me for his second time. Well I really think this show is one of the better ones, the cinematography is amazing, and the most importantly is the storyline, there is a beautiful unexpected twist. I strongly recommend to be watch and not to spoilt, you guys watch it.

Drag Me To Hell

Just watch the Drag Me To Hell at home, luckily at home cause I don't think is worth watching it in cinema. Basically I felt this movie was low budget and the storyline kind of went out of path at the end. There are some twist but quite unreasonable and not satisfying. The cinematography look like Bollywood film to be honest. Moreover I think they are just racist to put an asian as the antagonist that steal the proposal from the protagonist and sell. I believe there are people doing that no matter where but why asian? And the asian guy create a big contrast in the office.

However there are still good point, the sound effect is good and the editing trick like special effect. Although some effect are over do it which don't make it realistic, but at the end of the day it is hard to achieve such effect. Drag Me To Hell storyline is really drag me to hell, feel free to watch it, it is really expressionism.

Just purchased the iPhone 3GS, money goes to SingTel. The iPhone 3GS look the same as the iPhone 3G and I hope within a year the iPhone 4G or whatsoever don't release. If not I will feel very cheated, like I always do, example my MacBook Black, keyword Black series, and my first iPod Classic which is really classic until I buy then the next following days a larger capacity launch with attractive pricing, lastly the sad memories of my iPod Touch which lost in Cambodia by my brother! That was so unlucky, to me especially.

Well I took the Black series of iPhone 3GS, it doesn't really make a different, only the back surface changes colour. But do take note White series iPhone use to have more visual damage than Black series, probably due to it colour that cover the damage.

Just watch the movie Coming Soon! A horror Thailand movie from the producer of Shutter, Alone and 4bia. Thailand is well known in horror film, the art direction, cinematography, props/makeup, sound effect, editing and story line were well plan. I think they has successfully covered the different aspect, and most of all, their story line always have a twist in the end which make them creative. I like their way of production, the movie look low budget, but it actually create the atmosphere with it story line, effects and acting.

The first scene already tell you the story concept, that is surreal in reality.

iPhone 3GS vs HTC Hero

Before purchasing, better do a research. I found this new phone called HTC Hero, it is similar to the iPhone where both are smart phone. The interface somehow the same with touch screen but the HTC since magic series, already have this track ball that increase the interactive interface. However my I think more hardware more problem.

Go YouTube and hit on the same post title and you will find lots of comparison. In conclusion, the mobile tester said that iPhone is now leading with the faster loading time etc, but HTC has a better feature and potential for future. Therefore I am more interested with now, cause I will still lack behind if you want to talk about technology.
